The cello, master of Songe, weaves invisible links that resonate in the heart long before the ear. In Songe, each note becomes a thread of emotion, where voice and strings intertwine under the guidance of the cello, master of the inner journey. A work where the intimate and the universal meet, carried by the sincerity of the musical gesture.

About:

Songe is a musical exploration of deep emotions, memories, and dreams. Each piece invites the listener to journey through unique soundscapes, blending melancholy, gentleness, and intensity.

This project, born from a passion for music and enriched by valuable collaborations, reflects my desire to push the boundaries of classical music.

I am honored to share with you these original compositions, as well as two masterful works by André Gagnon that resonate deeply within me.

MUSICAL DIRECTOR - CELLIST - COMPOSER
With the cello at his heart and soul, Vincent Bélanger is known for his ability to create rich soundscapes, woven with emotion and subtlety. As a composer, arranger, and artistic director, he shapes Songe into a work where the cello becomes the master of dialogue, weaving invisible links to the eye, but evident to the heart.

Jay Lee

ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Creator of the YouTube channel Jay’s Iyagi, Jay Lee is recognized for his expertise in high-fidelity and his artistic sensitivity. Grandson of a major South Korean producer, he combines musical heritage and technical know-how. For Songe, he acts as artistic director, executive producer, and supports the project's international development.

Véronique Turcotte

VIOLINIST
A versatile violinist, Véronique Turcotte navigates with ease between the worlds of jazz and classical music. A collaborator of Vincent Bélanger since their years of musical studies in Quebec, she brings a warm and rich sound to Songe, weaving bright and expressive melodic lines.

HARPIST
A versatile harpist and sound creator, Annabelle Renzo explores textures and atmospheres with a unique sensitivity. Songe marks her first collaboration with Vincent Bélanger. She performs Solitude, a piece for solo harp composed and dedicated to her by Vincent, marking the first work in her repertoire without cello.

DOUBLE BASSIST
A true sonic tightrope walker, Étienne Lafrance dances with virtuosity between soloist, accompaniment, rhythm, and improvisation. A collaborator with Vincent Bélanger since the recording of Adaptations with Les 9 de Montréal, he embodies the double bass as a vibrant heart within each project.

PHOTOGRAPHER - VISUAL ARTIST
A long-time collaborator of Vincent Bélanger, Lisa Liu created the VBMP logo, most of the photographs for the Songe project, and designed the album cover. Her universal style, inspired by nature and childhood, combines great joy with an artistic maturity that is reflected in each of her works.

LYRIC SINGER (SOPRANO)
A multidisciplinary artist, Amélie Moise moves between the lyric stage, dance, and theatre, embodying each work with a rare expressiveness. A long-time collaborator, she has worked with Vincent since 2013, notably on the piece Fée, a composition dedicated to her.
